The STIHL FSA 70 R is a cordless, battery-powered brushcutter built to handle demanding mowing, cutting and clearing tasks around the home garden. As part of STIHL’s AK System, it runs with low noise levels, so you can work without worrying about disturbing neighbours.It comes fitted with the AutoCut C 12-2 mowing head, made specifically for brushcutters using the STIHL Rapid Click System. Compatible with 2.0 mm or 2.4 mm line, the head installs in seconds with no tools—just click it into place and you’re ready to start. Removal is just as easy: press the side release button to take it off, making line rewinding quicker and simpler. The FSA 70 R can also be used with the PolyCut 12-2 mowing head (sold separately), which also clicks on without tools.
A loop handle with a quick-mount system lets you adjust the grip to suit your height for a comfortable working position. It also improves control when trimming on slopes, around trees, or across uneven ground. Power comes from a robust brushless EC motor, with speed control on the handle offering two settings: ECO mode (level 1) for lighter jobs like edging—helping extend battery life—and full speed (level 2) for thicker grass where maximum cutting performance is needed.
With a fully charged AK 20 battery, expected run time is 25–45 minutes using the AutoCut C 12-2, or 50–90 minutes when used with the PolyCut 12-2 head.
