The STIHL HLA 86 is a telescopic long‑reach hedge trimmer designed for professional users and landscapers who need extra reach for tall and wide hedges. Ideal for cutting, trimming and general hedge maintenance, it combines strong performance with comfortable handling for day‑to‑day work.
Powered by a 36 V lithium‑ion battery, the HLA 86 is well balanced to help reduce fatigue during longer jobs. An ergonomic control handle with a self‑resetting Ergo lever makes it comfortable for both left‑ and right‑handed users, and its quiet battery operation is ideal for noise‑sensitive areas such as residential neighbourhoods, hospitals and care homes.
With an adjustable working length of 260–330 cm, it’s built for high reach without ladders. The 50 cm / 20" laser‑cut, double‑sided, diamond‑ground blades deliver a clean finish, while the cutting head adjusts through 115° (from ‑45° to +70°) for comfortable working angles and precise shaping. High EC motor acceleration supports fast, efficient cutting.
For transport and storage, the head folds flat to reduce the overall length to 187 cm, making it easier to move between jobs. The HLA 86 is also IPX4 rated, so it can be used in rain and wet conditions.
Recommended for use with the ALLPRO AP 100 P battery, with a typical working time of around 88 minutes on the recommended battery.
