The STIHL KMA 80 R is the first AK System battery KombiMotor.  Built for home gardens & powered by a 36V lithium‑ion battery, it’s quiet, efficient and strong enough for a wide range of jobs—pruning, trimming, mowing, clearing and cutting. It works with all STIHL KombiTools (except FSB‑KM), and swapping attachments is quick and simple: slide the tool into the shaft and tighten to lock it in place.

It features a redesigned loop handle with a quick‑mount system, so you can easily adjust it to suit your height for a comfortable working position. The loop handle also improves control when working on slopes, around trees, or on uneven ground. A brushless EC motor delivers reliable performance, while the control handle offers two speed settings plus variable adjustment depending on the attachment. ECO mode (level 1) is ideal for lighter tasks like edging, helping extend battery life. Full speed mode (level 2) provides extra power for tougher work such as clearing leaves.

The KMA 80 R is compatible with all AK batteries, with runtime varying by attachment and battery choice. The recommended AK 30 offers the longest working time, though it’s the heaviest—so for longer sessions (such as hedge trimming), you may prefer a lighter, lower‑capacity battery.
