The Charger is the newest in a line of products from Portek we are now stocking.  After seeing this compact log splitter at work and putting it through its paces ourselves we were so impressed we decided to stock it in our shop. We have seen and used many log splitters over the years and most of them are either poorly made or very slow and expensive.

The Charger is a super-fast, powerful and portable machine, with a build quality you expect from Portek. With convenient handles, strong chassis and wheels, the Charger can easily be positioned on any flat ground, ready to start work.

Description

The secret to the Charger’s 8.5 Ton splitting force is its two large spinning flywheels powered by a 1.5kW 240v electric motor that powers the ram using kinetic energy to drive your logs with force into the splitting wedge.  This is a very quick and safe way to split many logs in a short period of time.

Two leavers on the top of the Charger are used to operate the ram.  Pull one lever to engage the drive, then push the second lever to release the ram.  This two leaver operation ensures safe operation.  As the machine is powered by a quiet pollution-free electric motor (and not an engine or high-pressure hydraulics) it can safely be used in a shed or outbuilding making it perfect for home use.
